Trauma Therapy

Trauma therapy is a specialized form of care designed to assist individuals in processing and healing from distressing life events, all while enabling them to maintain their daily routines. In therapy, clients collaborate with clinicians to apply coping strategies in real-world situations as they learn them. Clinicians use evidence-based modalities, including but not limited to EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Polyvagal Theory, and Mindfulness-based interventions, to help regulate the nervous system and reframe intrusive thoughts commonly associated with traumatic events or reactions.

The primary objective of trauma therapy is to establish a trauma-informed environment that prioritizes safety and stabilization. Over time, this supportive setting empowers individuals to integrate their experiences and diminish the emotional intensity connected to traumatic memories, ultimately reducing the emotional "charge" those memories hold.
